FIVE MAJOR INITIATIVES

WHEELCHAIRS

Improve mobility for disabled people by providing wheelchairs to those unable to obtain one for themselves.


CLEAN WATER

Improve health and relieve excessive burdens of time and distance by providing convenient and sustainable sources of clean water to communities.

Provide access to clean water through the development of water wells and other drinking water systems.


FOOD PRODUCTION

Improve family nutrition and income through improved food production, marketing, family gardening and nutritional training.

NEONATAL RESUSCITATION TRAINING

Save the lives of newborn babies suffering from breathing difficulties by providing training and equipment for use in reviving these infants.



VISION CARE

Prevent avoidable blindness and visual impairment by strengthening eye care services of health care organizations that provide services to the poor.

About Deseret International Charities

Deseret International Charities is a non-profit, non-government organization. It has been in Mongolia since 1993.

The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints sponsors Deseret International Charities. Funds for Deseret’s humanitarian projects come from donations by Church members worldwide.

At the end of 2010, Deseret had donated 4,000 wheelchairs to the disabled people of Mongolia.
